In the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, life in Seattle, as most places now, is different. Here, most of the people are in hiding. Traffic, is oddly manageable. You hear more birds now when you walk down the street in downtown. And the sidewalks, they’re a little bit messier in some places.
People are still out, and going about their lives; especially now with the first onset of some nice weather, you can just expect to see fewer people than you normal would. But, we’ll see how that goes in the coming days.

These next three photos were taken when the trees were just shy of being in full bloom. However, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get photos with any people in them when the trees were in full bloom; either due to weather (because it is Seattle), or because of some new social distancing restrictions. Turns out, it was the latter. So on the first truly nice day of the year, I took the opportunity I had, which turned out to be the only one I would get.
I was trying to to get the most representative comparison I could. That would have been a sunny afternoon, on a weekday, and as close to April 1st as possible. Which, was a Monday. However, as of March 23, the quad is now closed to everyone, with the one exception of a single man roaming around it angrily yelling at anyone who disregards the caution tape and signage saying to avoid congregating.
Of course, the predictable result is that people are congregating at the barriers, and then taking any opportunity they have to jump over them to get a closer photo while he isn’t looking.
This is a view you’ll never see again.
