Analytical Laboratory Technician

Performed on-site sampling and analysis of petroleum fluids and corrosion products from aging infrastructure both in laboratory and field settings on a shift rotation of 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off. Duties included monitoring sulphur and GHG emissions; sampling and analysis of wetland surface water, seawater and discharge water, proper disposal of hazardous waste, and data analysis, control charting and visualization.

Internship, Research Associate

Designed and executed multi-step synthetic reactions to create molecules capable of binding cell organelles, florescent dyes used for staining and imaging, Ca2+ specific chelators for measuring internal cellular calcium concentrations, and enzyme specific dyes for kinetics studies.


Alaska SeaLife Center, Summer 2006

Assisted in hematology monitoring of sea mammals. Performing red and white blood cell counts, blood serum chemistries, and enzyme activity used to assess the health and well-being of the resident animals.
